Rakish Rhubarb Gin Liqueur
This Rhubarb Gin is our latest flavour and a fantastic hit with customers when we tried out the first batch.
The perfect English summer flavour.
An amazing mix of sweet and tart, just like the best rhubarb and custard pudding.
Compounded the old fashioned way - the way you probably make Sloe Gin at home - by steeping diced rhubarb in London Dry Gin.
We added sugar at the end of the process as we wanted to keep the tartness and sweetness nicely balance.
We are still trying out different mixers but so far we have consumed rather a lot neat.
It is such a summery flavour.
A new flavour for us requested by customers.
We love Rhubarb crumble and stewed Rhubarb, but it was a number of customers who really suggested we try making this and we were really surprised by how great this turned out.
Making Gin
Finally, we want to underline that the London Dry Gin used to make our own Gin liqueurs is the highest quality style of gin possible.
In particular, it captures the lovely strong flavours of what used to be termed “Export Strength” Gins.
Distillers combine the base botanicals of Juniper and Coriander seeds with Lemon Peel and Lime Flower and then use Angelica and Orris Root which act as the fixatives bringing harmony to the different flavours.
The use of Lime flower therefore gives the Gin a very clean and refreshing taste.
